A lot of us have been intrigued with the fun that this little system brings, so we decided to turn that fun into something both competitive and beneficial to the club.
On March 23rd, we’re planning on making our yearly trek down to southern California to the Super Chevy Show. This time to Fontana! We hope that the change of location this year will bring us better luck with the weather.
In April we’ll have our 2nd Annual Texas Hold’em “Get Your Tax
Money Back” Tournament. Like last year, Immaculate Reflections will be having a raffle for a complete Zaino job that same day, don’t miss it!
In addition, we plan to increase the variety of dinner locations, have more little cruises and motorsports events.
We hope that you’re as excited about 2007 as we are! Rev on!
Yours truly,
J.C. Fung
2007 WCGMP President
one. With the debate regarding the dues and the forum being hacked, we’ve had plenty of excitement for it being just two weeks! We hope all of that is in the past now and we can move on to some fun events and activities.
The 2007 officers have been working to prepare a great looking Events Schedule for
you! In February we’ll have our first fundraiser of the year with the Wii Tournament.
San Jose International Auto Show
Every year the the San Jose International Autoshow makes an appearance at the Convention Center to present the best and brightest concepts and readily available new cars of the year. GM brought along many new innovative vehicles for performance and practical usage.
Here is a run down of GM's mentionable changes and updates to passenger car and truck/SUV lineup.
E85, It's More Than Just Cooking with Gas.
E85 for flex fuel engines is grabbing the usual attention for trucks and SUVs. I encountered the E85 Avalanche with its fuel mileage of 15/21. I was impressed to see this concept out on the floor to provoke some reaction about the possibilities of cleaner running fuel alternatives for our larger framed four wheeled friends..hey do I smell popcorn?, oh no it's just the Avalanche.
Fuel Cell Equinox.
This impressive little SUV touts a petroleum free and zero emissions engine. I'm not sure if this is an all electrical car but I did notice that horsepower and mileage were not available for this concept. A battery operated car sounds appealing, I'm just worried about my electrical bill at the end of the month.
Cobalt SS Gets 4 Doors.
This little sports compact sedan was hidden behind the massive E85 Avalanche, no pun intended. They added onto a car that's proven to be reliable with its' supercharged 2.0 and 2.4 ecotec engine. I couldn't help but to wonder if the high-end 4-door cobalt was produced to make lives easier for families or to pack as many wild teens as possible into the party ride!
C6 Z06 Gets Colorful on the Inside.
The new 2007 Corvette Z06's latest change is under the hood. No, its not powered by the Blue Devil instead the hood insulator Corvette symbol is now adorned in color! GM Parts division seems to be taking a cue from aftermarket developers of auto accessories right down to the "Corsa-Like" tips. Great job guys on following the trend but did you have to follow the "Corvette Tax" charge for your goods as well?!
By the Power of GM! I Have the Power!!!
The rap stars have them and you should too. The all new redesigned Escalade from Cadillac is the self proclaimed most world's most powerful production SUV on the planet with a whopping 403HP! It rides on 22s' multiply that by 3 and you have your base price of $66K.
The Perfect Gift for the Wealthy Person in Your Life.
I know, I know, we have all pondered what should I by my really rich friend for a birthday or Christmas. Look no further the XLR-V is here to save the day. It weighs in at a whopping $100K but it is a bang for the buck when the $1,700 gas guzzler tax is included...or is it? In any case it's beautiful and feels like old spice...musky but luxurious with mind warping gentle suspension and speed.
Microsoft Outloo...(Whoops) I Mean Saturn Outlook is Here!
The new Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia are GMs answer to the cross-over vehicle game. Stunning good looks along the ability to carry 7-8 passengers. Even with the 3rd row seating up it manages to still present you with 20cu sq ft of room for storage. It's powered by a 270HP 3.6liter V6 and manages 0-60 in 8 seconds hauling its sleek girth of 4500lbs. How much does this hot looking cross-over cost? 27-31K MSRP! That is a bargain.
Conservative is in and the Silverado is at the Party!
The newly restyled Chevrolet Silverado is told to put something more demure and innocent on, especially when you're only asking for $17K for the base model. A thriving work horse for our nation and they've brought it back closer to its utilitarian roots. Don't fret truck fans loads of aftermarket upgrades will certainly make its way to this fan favorite truck.
Look back every month as I cover interesting local stories and my take on the car world in Clarence's Corner.

We welcome the New Year by celebrating car of the month, Jessica and her Firebird. Jessica has been a great addition to the Club. Since joining us she has been very active on the board. Making the long drive from Sonoma State University, coming to club activities and non-club related events.
According to Jessica, even though her car is a V6 she doesn't drive it like one.
Please help me congratulate Jessica on this honorable award.
P.S. And she is die hard sharks fan! GO SHARKS
