Autocross or AutoX as it's commonly referred to is an exciting
and growing motorsport. It's a place where you can not only enjoy
your car but also learn it. That's right, learning your car! The
roads out in the real world are full of "less-than-smart"
drivers and also obstacles. Do you know how your car handles under
an unexpected swerve? Are you comfortable cornering in your car?
Well, AutoXing might not make you an Indy driver but it will tell
you about your driving limits and your car's limits.
You will be running on a course outlined by orange cones and some
chalk markings. There's nothing to be afraid of out there. "Newbies"
are expected at these events and they're welcomed by new and seasoned
AutoXers alike. People will give you tips, go on rides with you,
or even invite you to ride inn their car!
So come on out and experience the world of AutoX !!! The next event
coming up is part of NASA (National Auto Sport Association) at Marina,
near Monterey, on March 11 and 12th.

What New Members Are Saying ...
Well first things first. I want to thank Clarence
for giving me an invite to the club. If he had not post it on the
GTO Forum I don't think I would have found it. When I signed up
on the WCGMP forum and introduced myself, everyone received me really
well. Now I find myself on WCGMP a lot more than the GTO forums
just because of the cool, laid back and no-drama atmosphere. I've
had some really good experiences with the club even though I missed
the February meet. Putting names with cars together and a litte
more bonding in the yahoo chatrooms was a real good experience.
Thanks to JC and Elma for really welcoming me to the family and
helping me open up to all the other members

My name is Kyong Oh, you guys know me as Jimmy
(yelofver/yelof3vr). I used to have an Olds Alero when I was in
GA. I found Aleromod.com and got hooked on the whole car club concept.
Well, I joined the Army, went to Basic Training and left my car
with my sis/bro-in-law, what a mistake.. but a good one. He wrecked
it and the insurance gave me 8 grand. So when I got stationed here
in Cali, I went out and bought me a Cobalt LT then switched over
to SS. I was online for literally 3 days trying to find a "car
club" for Cobalts. I found CobaltSS.net. I was looking around
and I saw a post with WCGMP on it. Checked it out, it was one of
our own guys here, forgot who ... sorry. So I signed up and started
posting. At my first meet, last month, everyone was really cool,
you guys really know your cars. Dinner was fun as well. Very warm/relaxed
atmosphere and everyone helps each other out A LOT. It was my first
night out with all of you and you guys asked me to come to SCS,
Auto Cross, next meet.. felt like I was part of a family. Even though
we're different (race, religion, etc) but we have one common thing
that binds us, like a family. Unlike the Cobaltss.net guys, they
are a little on the edge and not really friendly !! We have ALL
KINDS of different characters in here and I'm very glad that I got
the chance to meet you and be part of the club. Thanks guys!

A Member's Dream:
I've had a void in my heart lately that I have been trying to fill.
At first I did not know what it was, but then one day it hit me.
Fast. Sleek. Sexy. Lately, I have wanted to get that feeling of
power and control only a sports car can give you. I've been looking
at F-bodies. More precisely, at Pontiac Trans Am and Formula. Why
you may ask? Everytime I see these cars on the road and during the
WCGMP meets, I see that power and control I've been craving for.
With a V8 5.7 Liter and sleek front, I can see the muscle car undertones
and feel. Unfortunately, my budget only goes so far since I have
a beater that I am still paying for. I hope to find something soon,
so that I can say that I am a proud owner of an f-body and get the
envious stares from other car owners wishing they had one too. -
