I would like to thank you all for making 2005 a great start for
the club's vehicle diversity, represent our pride and share our passion
with admirers of GM performance vehicles.
The web site and forum content will be changed on a regular basis
to keep you informed about our club, its members and GM's performance
industry. We will continue to enjoy features such as "Car of
the Month" and in addition to that, a complete Member's Gallery
where you can present your car amongst fellow members.
Proudly we introduce the first WCGMP newsletter, the "FUEL
LINE", to keep you in touch with the clubs current
events, member spotlights, important messages, motor sports statistics
and much, much more!
Re-invention of our sponsors will go from unrecognizable and sparsely
timed discounts to contributions that will benefit the club as a whole.
Entertaining and competitive fundraisers will be produced where our
member's friends and family can all participate in strengthening our
foundation so that we can produce even more worthwhile events where
we could not have done before.
Now is a great time to renew or become a member with so many good
things to come!
Sincerely,
-Clarence Wong President
our club.
We go into 2006 with a new staff of officers that have your best interests
at heart and I'd like to share with you some of the new changes and
highlights we will have scheduled throughout the year.
We plan to enrich your experience by providing new and seasoned events.
You'll be taking part in fun games, contests, get-togethers and of
course motor sports, all conveniently scheduled for you.
Recognition of our club will be made to draw fans like ourselves and
public media in. The purpose will be to grow out
Events Outlook
As 2006 dons a new year, it will also don new events for WCGMP.
While some successful events from last year will be included such
as Super Chevy and other annual festivities, new events will take
place that will bring enjoyment to the clubs members and also
reach out to new potential members. This year to come, WCGMP will
take our meet on the road on a few select months where we can reach
out to new parts of the bay area. Expectations of this are to not
only draw in attention from new areas, but also to mix things
up and explore new places and restaurants for entertainment.
An important objective for 2006 that the officers will take on which
I will play a major role in is club growth. We all feel that 2005
was a great first year for WCGMP and the foundation has been laid
that will support our growth. Of course we will not be able to achieve
this with out everyone elses support. As we begin to see new
people on the board and making it out to meets, please make an effort
to introduce yourself and make them feel welcomed. I look forward
to what 2006 has in store for WCGMP and hope that we have another
fun filled year full of meets and events that brings us together
to share our enthusiasm we have for our cars.

Congratulations to Shawn McDonald and his 2001 Corvette Z06 for being
2006's first Car of The month!! Shawn played a vital part in getting
our club started. This past year, he rewarded his "Z" by
adding Longtubes, Borla stingers, and a Dynotune putting his beast
up to 372rwhp/375rwtq. Shawn is looking forward to his Race,
coming later this month.
5th Generation Concept Camaro
When
GM made the announcement that the Camaro and Firebird would no longer
be built after a 35-year reign, most enthusiasts were numb with disbelief.
How could this happen?!?!?! thought legions of fans.
In the last few months, news that a 5th generation Camaro is in the
future from GM, has sparked a lot of debate among car enthusiasts.
Irrespective of GM's true intent towards a next generation Camaro,
there is quite a debate both inside and outside GM, over which styling
direction it should take. One faction--a slim majority by all accounts--favors
a futuristic aerodynamic theme, the majority, a heritage direction
resembling the first generation. In December, the controversy grew,
as photos leaked from inside of GM made its way through
the internet on various websites and bulletin boards. In January of
2006 the Camaro Concept car will be revealed at the annual
car show in Detroit.
